LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville hosted its 13th Annual Red and Black Honors Banquet and Scholar Athlete Awards Ceremony Sunday night in the Brown and Williamson Club at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

The 221 student-athletes, spirit group members and managers who were recognized set a prime example to others with their hard work, dedication and perseverance in maintaining a 3.25 cumulative grade point average for all semesters at U of L.

The Cardinal team awards, which recognize the highest team grade point average (GPA), were given to the Golf team on the women's side (3.431) and the men's Tennis team (3.166).

In the outstanding senior awards category, which honors athletes with the highest GPA's, the recipients were Ashley Jackson (3.983) of the swim team and Lisa Grace (3.971) of the rowing team.

The National City Postgraduate Scholarship Awards were also awarded as the swim team swept the honors with Ashley Jackson and Andrei Teudean earning scholarships for their hard work and endless dedication not only in athletics, but also in the classroom.
