The Cardinal CHAMPS/Life Skills Program at the University of Louisville Athletic Department is committed to providing programs to continually prepare student-athletes for life after college. To assist student-athletes with the transition from the collegiate classroom to the corporate boardroom, the "Life After Sports Mentor Program" has been established as a part of the Cardinal CHAMPS/Life Skills Program. This program is designed to match qualifying male and female student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility with business people in the community who hold similar fields of interest. These individuals will serve as your mentor and introduce you to the real and practical career world.
The Life Skills Team highly encourages you to participate in this program once you have exhausted your eligibility, as this is a wonderful networking opportunity for you. This program provides you, the young professional, the chance to learn from your mentor's professional experiences and expertise. It gives you the opportunity to get an "up close and personal" look at the real world of business and relate to an individual in your chosen field of interest. Please keep in mind...the Life After Sports Mentor Program is not a work-study program nor is it an employment program. We offer no promises of jobs to the student-athletes in this program.
Student-athletes interested in participating should complete the information form and return it to the address at the bottom of the application. Please note the deadline for returning the application. Once the Life After Sports Matching Committee has received your completed form, you will be notified as to the time and date of your interview so that you can be matched to a mentor. The interview process is very important as we are looking for motivated individuals who recognize the value of the mentor program and who will commit to its objectives. Student-athletes are not guaranteed a match with a mentor.
Thanks for your interest and best wishes toward your continued success.
