Papa John's Cardinal Stadium Parking InformationPapa John's Cardinal Stadium Parking Map Green Lot Parking Details Prior to and following games, Central Avenue will be closed to through-traffic at Floyd Street. The intersection will be diagonally blocked from the northwest to the southeast corner to allow for pedestrians to cross without stopping vehicle traffic. Green Lot parking pass holders coming from 3rd Street should turn on Central Avenue, and then take a right onto Floyd Street. Green Lot parking pass holders arriving from Crittenden Drive should turn onto Park Avenue, which leads into Floyd Street. Left turns onto Floyd Street from Central Avenue will not be allowed before games. Traffic patterns will be reversed following games, with right turns onto Central Avenue not allowed following games. Those departing the A section of the Green Lot will be directed to turn left onto Floyd Street, and then left on Central Avenue. All other Green Lot exits will be directed to turn right onto Floyd Street. All Green Lot spaces have been assigned and all pass holders must park in their assigned space. The lot is divided into Lot A, Lot B, Lot C, and Lot D sequentially from the north. The spaces are numbered sequentially and there are no duplicate numbers within any area. For example, if you are in Lot B Row D Space 195, there is no other Space 195 in Lot B. However, there is a Lot C Row D Space 195. Vehicles parked in an incorrect space will be towed. Bronze Lot Parking Details Reserved parking in the Bronze Lot will not change from previous seasons at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, but those with spaces there should note some alterations in traffic flow. The Bronze Lot is the area directly surrounding Papa John's Cardinal Stadium north of Central Avenue bordered by Floyd Street and the railroad tracks. Prior to and following games, Central Avenue will be closed to through-traffic at Floyd Street. The intersection will be diagonally blocked from the northwest to the southeast corner to allow for pedestrian traffic to cross without stopping traffic. Bronze and Platinum Lot parking pass holders coming from the north should to approach the stadium on Floyd Street. Bronze and Platinum Lot parking pass holders arriving from the south, must use Crittenden Drive to access Central Avenue, then turn right onto Floyd Street to access the lot. Left turns onto Floyd Street from Central Avenue will not be allowed before games. Following the games, traffic flow will be reversed and Bronze Lot parking pass holders can either turn left onto Floyd Street, or turn right and then turn left onto Central Avenue. All lanes on Floyd Street north of the F/G Gate will flow north. Right turns onto Central Avenue will not be allowed following games. Alternate Parking Areas All lots adjacent to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium are prepaid reserved parking for University of Louisville season ticket holders. One of the best options is to park at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. To avoid traffic to the prepaid lots, those parking at the KFEC should access Gate 1 of the fairgrounds off the Watterson Expressway (I-264). Follow Ring Road to the right and park in the lots north of old Cardinal Stadium, then walk across Crittenden Drive and down Central Avenue to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Parking at the KFEC is $6. Conflicting events at the KFEC may impact parking availability there. There is also substantial surface parking west of the stadium across the railroad tracks. All handicapped parking at the stadium is presold. Drive up handicapped parking is available on the first floor of U of L's Floyd Street parking garage, with a shuttle available to the stadium. Individuals may drop off and pick up handicapped patrons in the bus lane of the stadium, however, it is not recommended due to heavy traffic before and after games. Public transportation drops off in the bus lane adjacent to Floyd Street. Post event traffic must follow the directions of security personnel to assure two exit lanes. U of L will continue the tradition at home games with the CardMarch. The team will be dropped off on the south side of the Denny Crum Overpass on Central Avenue two hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff (example: 12:45 p.m. for a 3 p.m. kickoff). With the assistance of the U of L marching band and cheerleaders, the team will walk from the Green Lot and into Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Fans are invited to arrive early and create an entrance way for the players as they head into the stadium. |
