I am very excited about the opportunity to share my 28 years of competitive swimming experience with you. Our highly experienced and qualified coaching staff will teach you valuable techniques to help you continue to improve, and ultimately, SWIM FASTER!
I invite you to join us at the University of Louisville Cardinal Swim Camp for an all- around fun summer experience where you will learn the details of success in and out of the pool!

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Our goal is to provide an atmosphere where swimmers are excited to learn about all areas of competitive swimming: from technique, to racing, and training. The camps are open to all swimmers ages 8-18. We will focus on many areas including breakdown of all four competitive strokes, drills, starts, turns as well as goal setting, dry-land training and educational lectures.
Starts, Turns & Breakouts Camp--(Overnight & Commuter)
Ages 8-18.This camp focuses on the small details that make a BIG difference. Improving your starts, turns and breakouts for all four strokes will make your swimming faster!
Technique & Training Camp--(Overnight, Commuter, Half-Day)
Ages 8-18. This camp focus on the essential as well as cutting edge skills. Each camper will be placed in a training group according to age, ability, and competitive background. This camp is designed for competitive swimmers who can swim all four competitive strokes. Higher level swimmers will be placed into a higher demanding training group and will provide great aerobic training for the summer season.
Advanced Weekly Training Camp --(Overnight & Commuter)
Ages 13-18. This camp is designed for the advanced swimmer who is looking for a "collegiate-like" training experience (10 practices/wk; minimum of 6 LCM practices).
COACHING STAFF
Coach Arthur Albiero - Head Coach, University of Louisville. A four-time Big East Coach of the Year, and 2012 SwimSwam National Coach of the Year,Coach Albiero is completing his tenth season as the University of Louisville Head Men's and Women's Swim Coach and has over 17 years of collegiate coaching experience. During his tenure, the UofL Swimming Program has gained a new direction achieving top-20 National Rankings consistently, including UofL'sfirst NCAA Top-10 finish in 2012!. UofL has also won Big East Conference Champions in 2010(M), 2011 (M/W), and 2012 (W). He has coached NCAA champions, Olympic Trial Qualifiers, NCAA All-Americans, Olympic Finalists, and a Bronze Olympic Medalist in 2004. He also has had vast experience in age group coaching; all three of his children (ages 18, 13, 11) are age group swimmers!
Ryan Wochomurka -- Associate Swim Coach, University of Louisville Coach Wochomurka completed his sixth season as a member of the coaching staff at the University of Louisville. Coach Wochomurka joined the UofL coaching staff after a highly successful swimming career. He was a 21-time All-American Sprinter at Auburn University and he played a vital part on their three-peat Men's NCAA Championships. He was also a member of the USA National Team and was a Silver Medalist at World Championships in 2003.
Rachel Komisarz -- Associate Swim Coach, University of Louisville Coach Komisarz completed her sixth season as a member of the coaching staff at the University of Louisville. She has brought tremendous experience as a high level competitor. Among her career highlights, 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist and 8-year veteran of the US National Team . She has vast experience working with age group swimmers of all ages, and she has also been involved in swim clinics throughout the country.
Chris Lindauer -- Asst. Coach, University of Louisville Coach Lindauer completed his 4th season as a member of the coaching staff at the University of Louisville. Chris was a member of the UofL Swimming Team from 2004-2008. He concluded his Cardinal career as a NCAA All-American and as a member of 5 UofL relays that placed top-16 at the NCAA Championships in 2008. He was a four-time BIG EAST Champion and seven-time All-BIG EAST Conference selection. He won the 2008 UofL Coaches Award and the 2008 UofL Most Memorable Performance Award.

- Overnight campers will be lodged at the Louisville Hall (an apartment-style dorm with a private bathroom in each suite)

- There will be daily lectures on performance, nutrition, sports psychology, training philosophy and training physiology
- Emphasis on technique with videos and education
- 2 Water Sessions Daily
- 24 Hour Supervision for all campers
- 8:1 swimmer to coach ratio
CARDINAL TUTORS
Cardinal Tutors is a one on one hour long session with one of the UofL swimmers. The tutors will work closely with camper to work on specific skills. Tutors may even get in the water and enhance what the camper is learning throughout the camp and will work on each camper's specialty. Campers and Tutors are matched based on specialties.
